Finsulate® antifouling foil is a 100% environmentally friendly alternative to toxic antifouling paint.

Invented to insulate surfaces exposed to marine environments like ship hulls or floating structures from fouling.

Finsulate® antifouling foil is a self adhesive wrap consisting of pressure sensitive modified acrylic adhesive, polyester carrier film and an antifouling layer of cured acrylic adhesive with embedded nylon fibers.

Finsulate® antifouling foil can be directly applied to new boats or to boats or structures that are never covered with antifouling paint.

Ships or structures who have used antifouling paint have to first remove all old antifouling paint layers, they can be removed by sanding or sandblasting.

When the surface is clean, 2 coats of epoxy primer need to be applied, then it is ready for Finsulate® antifouling foil.

Minimum application temperature is 10 °C / 50°F.

The tiny stings on the Finsulate® antifouling foil surface prevent the attachment of algae, mussels or other biological organisms. The only chance for organisms to attach is on the outer end of those tiny stings.
The fouling can easily be removed with a sponge, a brush or a spatula and the ship can stay in the water while the removal happens. The de-fouling can be done by yourself or a diver.

The fouling protection of Finsulate® antifouling foil works if the ship is moving or lying still and it’s durability of at least 5 years means that you’ll definitely save on the yearly maintenance costs.
